During an interaction with the Director General of World Trade Organisation ( WTO) Roberto Azevedo who called on him in New Delhi last evening, reportedly India\u2019s Prime Minister Narendra Modi said it is imperative to prioritise the WTO\u2019s activities so that it addresses the concerns of the developing countries. Mr. Modi urged\u00a0 Mr. Azevedo\u00a0 to make special efforts so that the benefits of free trade\u00a0 and globalisation become more visible in developing countries. The Prime Minister Modi also conveyed his best wishes for the success of the informal meeting\u00a0 of Ministers\u00a0 of WTO which is being organised in New Delhi and he reiterated that India is a strong supporter of multilateral trading system.<\/p>\n

The WTO Director \u2013 General Azevedo reportedly thanked the Indian government for taking the initiative of starting a conversation to explore ways to reinvigorate the multilateral trading system.<\/p>\n

Talking to reporters earlier, Mr. Azevedo reportedly has said discssions at the informal ministerial meeting in he national capital New Delhi be useful for carrying forward the mandate of the the multilateral trade body, said media news report.<\/p>\n
